Our First AGM

Firstly, let us thank all of our members who attended the first of the Friends of the Guildhall Museums AGM; the turnout was fantastic, and we got some fantastic feedback which will help us in continuing to support Medway’s heritage, and help shape the following year.

Following a short but productive meeting, many of our members enjoyed a tour behind-the-scenes of the Guildhall Museum, exploring it’s various storage areas, plan chests, vaults, each with a fascinating collection of local paraphernalia. For those of you who haven’t come along on one of our tours, It’s well worth it, and a fantastic insight into how the museum has changed since it’s opening, along with witnessing first hand the ways that we may be able to influence it’s future, and how it could be used to further develop it’s potential.

Many thanks to Medway’s Heritage Services Manager, Simon Lace, for taking us around and once again to Medway Council and all the staff at the Guildhall for making us so welcome and catered for.
